A while back I started looking for the wife a rod so she could go fishing with me and have her own rig. I'm fond of "vintage" fishing gear myself so a buddy knowing that gave me a old 6'6 mh ugly stik casting rod. It had seen it's share of 100 degree summer days & the clear coat was starting to flake off. This morning I scrubbed it down with steel wool and put 6 heavy coats back on it. I've mounted her a Zebco 404 on it so she should be set for a little bank fishing
My current setup is my old 1960's Pflueger Rocket 1375 on a custom built 7' X-HEAVY boat rod & it's served me well & I'll never part with that reel but it'll get a period correct solid fiberglass rod and live there soon.
Couple weeks ago I bought a pair of Daiwa Sealine 47H reels from a guy in Michigan that were basically new, liked it so much I talked him into selling me his last one and I'll be running 3 of them from now on, 1 to replace the Pflueger & add 2 more rods to the arsenal probably bass pro snagging special 7' solid fiberglass rods because I like bullet proof stuff. Hoping to get a good 10ft casting surf rod soon and probably put a Sealine 50H non levelwind on that for distance casting . For me Daiwa Sealine reels are about perfect for catfish
