i've been in claremore walmart just looking over the counter at ammo and an overnight stocker told me to get away from the ammo counter
They tried the no after 10 thing with me and I went up got a manager and he pulled it for me no problemo. The snooty lady who denied me had a priceless look on her face

I worked in sporting goods for Wally World sum 20yrs ago and policy was no guns or ammo sales between 10-7 ,w/ hunting season being the only exception.Hell before the stores went to 24hrs ,the night before dear season we would keep sporting goods open all night w/ a manger escorting customers back & forth from the front door [the rest of the store was off limits]
Which, many jurisdictions including Oklahoma, supercedes state and municipal law.

There's a law that says that dealers can't sell handgun ammo to persons under 21, but since .22lr is also a rifle caliber, I just tell them it's for my rifle. You only need to be 18 to buy .22lr (I am under 21, but over 18)
I would have raised an incident with the manager if that was to ever happen to me.

I have waited till they had brought out ammo on the pallets and picked it off the pallet and walked it up front and paid for it... usually around 230 in the morning, I was never told anything!
there is no law against it. You just have to locate a manager that is not a lazy*** and they will get it for you. Usually they are very nice. Only store I have problems with is the store on Admiral in Tulsa, but looking at the location I can see why they would not sell ammunition anytime between 10 and 7
