Just completed a preventative maintenance on my second Mauser Luger -- reproduction by Mauser/Interarms made in 1974 (I believe). This weapon has never been fired and I do have the original box. I am concerned about the grips. They appear to have no factory finish on them. Also, they feel very dry to the touch. There lies my quandary.....should I put some conditioner on the grips?

I do intend to take this to the range in the future. I don't collect collectibles --- I collect nice useable things. But, it's only original once. I can't go back in time to remove the conditioner. I do admit that this is a 'good' issue to have......
