It depends on what you mean by "high" and "low".
Are you saying high = 2 * low?
Because many would say a "high end" AR-15 is in the neighborhood of $2000, where a "low end" would be under $500.
In a sense, this is exactly what I've done with my ARs.
I have three, which I could sell and buy one high end AR. But I have no intentions of doing so. I have a 20" match barreled 5.56, a 16" lightweight 5.56, and a 8.5" pistol .300blk. Other than needing to register the 8.5" so I can put a stock on it, I've pretty much got my bases covered.
