My first ride was a '63 Pontiac Bonneville - just like this one. Bought in '68, used for only $500.

that car was a POS and kept overheating and would leave me stranded. But when it was running it was a beast. My mom decided that it was too unreliable got me to sell it and it was replaced with a 96 corsica

I drove that car so hard it was going to fall apart before it hit 80k miles.

4 cars by the time I was 17....and my wife wonders why I want a new car consistently

1962 Volvo PV544 Sport.
Not fast but ultra reliable.
Bought it out of a farmers field for $50
Drove it thru high school, sold it in 1978 for $2000 to some hippie in Denver.
It was actually in great shape.
Had well over 300k on it when it sold.

'64 Chevy Biscayne, 230 cu six, 3 on the tree. I bought a radio at Gibsons and installed it. Then my Dad bought a '68 Chevy long bed pickup, had a 283 and Powerglide two speed auto, plus he put a propane converter on it. You're probably guessing by now I didn't outrun much of anything!
For graduation my folks bought me a '68 Chevy Nova SS. That thing would run! Or at least seemed like it after driving the other two cars. It lasted for 3091.5 miles. I was going down to Geronimo from Lawton and met a feller passing on a hill. Insurance said go get another one. At the time I was reading "Car and Driver" magazine and I knew everything there was to know about cars, so in my supreme intelligence I got an Opel Kadette Rally. It didn't take long to realize I was really kinda stupid!

My first was a 1963 Ford Thunderbird. I had a lot of fun in that thing, my friends and I would cruise all night in it and have to fill up with gas before heading home due to constantly gassing that 390. Of course it only cost less than $10 to fill up then too.
