I agree. I don't think it's inconceivable that this experience would change their views. I don't fault her for the pics, she's not a hypocrite for those, as they occurred before the event. Her husband is a different story.

Couple that with the fact that this was a law enforcement photo op. "They" have never been against LEO use of military style rifles...if these pictures were taken at a civilian gun club then it would be a bit hypocritical.

I see nothing damning in these photos.

According to one of the witnesses, SHE requested the photo op to toughen HER image. It wasn't about the officers, it was about her. So maybe it doesn't make her a hypocrite, but it does make her a political opportunist which in my book is just as bad if not worse.

Who knows how she really felt before the shooting? Lots of Republican politicians pose as "sportsmen" in photo ops.

They are just doing what hey do. Besides it is in all their natures to be hypocrites or they'd be in another line of work.

Guys...

...c'mon!

The lady got shot in the brain and still isn't 100% recovered (I suspect will never be).

By all means, disagree with her... but just maybe cut her a bit of slack. Traumatic brain injury is a seriously life changing event, as a number of our veterans can attest.

I have all the sympathy in the world for her right up until the point where she decides she should make decisions that negatively effect my life. I'm a 100% disabled veteran. I served in Desert Shield/Storm. I don't think that makes me qualified to take away someone's constitutionally protected rights. I took an oath to uphold those rights and I still abide by that oath even though I am no longer in the service because I took it seriously. Apparently she didn't.
