I also think as a member of a team you should be held to a higher standard than the average person attending college there. Am I wrong?

Why should they be held to a higher standard? They are no different than the average Joe Blow who attends <insert college name here>. If he is of age to drink, and he gets picked up for public intox, well lesson learned. If anything he should get gassed pretty bad in practice. But suspending him for something that happens to a lot of young adults? Please. He made a small mistake. He wasn't caught DUI, he wasn't in a bar fight. as far as what you can get picked up for this is about as tame as it gets.

Really? You think an athlete on a college team should be allowed to get drunk when he’s not playing. They should be held to a higher standard because they are expected to be in peak physical condition to play their best. Another $50 says OU has this as a rule for their players. Unenforced obviously but a rule nonetheless.

No one ran me off, I’m still waiting for him to say what he would do if he was the coach. I guess he would lock up the eye black until game time and hope no one covered their entire face with it. Maybe buy a keg for the locker room.
