Is the climate changing ? Absolutely !

The climate has always been changing. The Sahara was once a lush grassland. When the climate changed, roughly 10k years ago, it pushed the people that would become the Egyptians into the Nile River valley.
For more info, search The Great African Warming.

Iceland once wasn't. Icy, that is.
Greenland once was. Green, that is.

That neither is as they once were has nothing to do with Mankind.

I just read an op-ed, written in 1978 by Jerry Pournelle. He explained that global warming would cause an ice age. Here's how -
More heat, more water evaporates. More rain from the water vapour in the atmosphere.
Some if that rain falls as snow in the Arctic. That snow expands the snowpack, reflecting more sunlight from the Earth surface, more cold, more snow, more reflection: ice age.
According to him, we have already starved to death from the resulting loss of farmland and crops.

My point is - nobody knows.

One thing that struck me from the first few clippings is they called for "population control". I.E. they would be sterilization drugs in food staples in order to prevent us from reproduction. I'm willing to bet that it would be setup in such a way that only the rich could afford the reversal drugs and the poor would be prevented from having children.

Because that is so far reaching and generally not looked upon in favor, maybe they took a step back and decided to start small. First they got control of the land (hello BLM and eminent domain), then they made rules of what you can and cannot due on land you own (hello EPA). Now that they are ready to exert complete control they seek to eliminate private firearm ownership. THEN they can re-introduce population control, but this time we peons won't have a choice.

Looks like a guy named Paul Ehrlich is mentioned in several of the early ones; maybe he was the Bill Nye the Science Guy of the day, the media science darling.
