People always get their panties in a wad when the Po Po uses a different tactic to enforce the traffic laws violaters think do not apply to them. Just drive northbound between 3pm and 6 pm on US 169 in Tulsa and US 235 Broadway Extension in OKC. If you aren't traveling at 75 to 80 in a 65 MPH zone you will be run over.
Yeah, I was recently on 71st when the stoplights at Riverside went down (in afternoon rush hour).
Thankfully the police department is just down the street from 71st and they got someone out there to direct traffic immediately.

True story except for one element. Want to guess which event did not happen?

The problem isn't whether I'm breaking the law or not and whether I "deserved" to get pulled over.
If you're gonna say, "just don't break the law", and I say, "OK I won't", then what should I think is going on if I get pulled over by an unmarked vehicle since to my knowledge, there is no reason for me to be pulled over. I'm wondering who is it.
When unmarked cars are used to pull people over for traffic issues, the door is open for anybody with a flashing light to pull people over. Traffic stops should only be made by marked units.
So we should have “deserved “ laws instead of consistent laws for EVERYONE? Hummm weird

So, they don’t get a significant amount of money from the ticket, but they’re getting paid by the state and/or Feds to write tickets in unmarked cars.

So unmarked cars are there for revenue enhancement. It’s just not direct revenue enhancement from the tickets themselves. That’s a distinction without a difference.
Who cares ! Laws for safety are for everyone. Cooperate and Graduate welcome to the world of responsibility for all of us

Hummm. Not what I meant and I suspect you knew that. In any case, I am correct - traffic stops should be made by marked cars. I am declaring victory and leaving this thread. :burnout::burnout:

Funny, I don’t see what you’re seeing. I see people disagreeing with a TACTIC, not LE or traffic enforcement in general. In fact, what I see are people who support the TACTIC, name calling, accusing those who disagree with said tactic of being lawbreakers and engaging in dishonest debate tactics such as reductio ad absurdum.

Mind the plank there friend! ;)
You have EVERY right to see what you want.
That said, so do those of us who embrace using every tool at hand to make our highways as safe as possibly by enforcing the law. No exceptions. Otherwise it’s like Biden to hell with our laws I want what I want no matter who it effects

It must be against the law for TPD to work traffic control. It’s probably a Federal statute or something.

A couple of years ago, they were actually working traffic control at 61st and Olive (I forget which insanely stupid number Tulsa puts on that road). The wreck was in the middle of the intersection, so they were redirecting traffic on 61st through the parking lots on the north side of 61st.

…until the bell rang. Then they just vanished into thin air like vampires at sunrise.

You know what they didn’t do?

They didn’t get the drivers out of the parking lots. They just left us there to try and make left turns out of parking lots into rush hour traffic.

Thanks for the big safety help there, guys.
