You guys missed one hell of wrestling match today. The Corgi had to hold the Pit down and teach him a lesson. The Retriever had to officiate the match!
Dawg tore the pad clear off one of his toes last night. Doped him up with benedryl pretty good last night and today but I was still having to watch him like a hawk to keep him from licking it CONSTANTLY. I thought he was being a good dog and leaving it alone -- like I told him lol -- BUT finally caught him being the sneaky little bastard I did not think he was.
So ... Tonight I trimmed the flap that was still hanging onto his toe. That needed to happen anyway but I wanted to give it 24 hours so the nerves would have time to not be so sensitive. That helped a bunch but he still wouldn't stop messing with it.
Into the medicine cabinet I go -- sprayed the spot several times (to get a nice thick coat on it) with DermaPlast. I cannot recommend this stuff enough. It coats a scrape or any raw surface (like a skinned knee or a peeled back foot pad) and helps keep the air off that raw spot. Plus it's cool so it makes a really uncomfortable spot feel better quick. Antibacterial, also.
Next, to deal with the licking. More benedryl. And 3 socks and an ACE bandage I had left from my ankle surgery -- so you can guess just how long that mother****er was.
Didn't help he has legs that are like 3 inches long. 
And for good measure, another sock over the ACE bandage to hold it all together. 
Looks good, right??!?!
Seriously, I don't care HOW it looks. I care that we can all get some sleep tonight.

He pulled his "band-aid" off sometime during the night but the DermaPlast did it's job. It gave his boo-boo a chance to seal over a bit so it wasn't so bothersome and he is not licking it. Yeah!!

Bruno's Bark Box came about 20 or so minutes ago. He picked this toy out first to uh....play with.

4 out of 5 Corgis recommend not getting left behind when the screen door closes...
Man, I can't imagine having that many Corgs running around the place. The amount of attitude that you have to put up with must be astonishing.
