Do any of you fine people happen to know anything about the process of dealing with an abandoned vehicle? One was left in front of my house a few months ago and, rather than just have the city tow it away, I'd like to see the feasibility of claiming it. I know this is possible, but I have NO idea how. I called the TCSO who had NO clue.

Thanks!

If it's not on your property I don't think it's that easy to claim it.

If it was to accidentally roll into your driveway and sit there for awhile it might be different LOL.

If I remember correctly, you have to post it publicly for a certain period of time and if nobody claims it then you can start to file the paperwork for an abandoned vehicle, but what do I know...I broke a shoelace this morning...

I know business owners can file a title 42 to recoup their loss if they did repairs and the bill wasn't paid and vehicle was left.
This would apply for mechanics, and wrecker services. (Mechanic labor/parts and towing/storage)

Not sure if you can claim a vehicle that is just sitting in the street.
