Maybe I'm just being cynical or just not enough sleep but It would not surprise me in the least for our government to detain and extradite the air marshals to Brazil to stand trial.
They can't afford to have the FAM's all stop flying over this. The FAM's have a pretty solid union that would retaliate.
So how were the Marshals arrested in Brazil? I am unsure what jurisdiction the flight would be under, at least at the time each party claimed they had authority to effect an arrest. If the Marshals have jurisdiction, then the Brazilian authorities don't, and vice versa, right?
My understanding of aviation, international, and other applicable law is slim to none... but I find this all highly questionable.
