Bullet Casting: ?s On The Basics

My casting sessions are my relax time. I cast for .223, .270, .355, .357, .40, .41, .45

Keeps me in cheap bullets. I am down to my last 500 lbs of melted wheel weights. With 6 more 5 gallon buckets on the way.

what are you shooting the 223 out of?

My only recommendation is that you overeducate yourself on lead safety protocols and follow them to the letter all the time. CB

I was going to ask about the Lee "tumble lube" stuff, as looking at Midway's catalog, they look to be the only ones who do that. Says they typically don't have to be sized....apparently it works OK?

It works... I wouldn't say Ok is how i'd describe it, but yes it works and no you don't need to size em... its messy and it hardens in the bottle if you leave it in the garage... If you're looking to get into casting on the cheap then itll get you started, just be sure you double coat em. (run em thru once, let em dry, run em thru again)

Flux with sawdust. It's free, and does a great job. After your lead is nice and clean, put a layer on top of your drip o matic to keep from losing antinamy if you are using lino/lead to cast.
