I do have all the carpet off and a lot of the thicker adhesive off and I am prepping it.
One section of carpet the woven section pulled up but left all the rubber and some of the nylon fuzz.

So much joy.
The Zep citrus didn't do a thing to it not even the thin resin parts that you could almost see through.
I let it soak and added a second soaking and nothing.
LA totally awesome did a wee bit better but fail + fail = fail.

I mixed the 2 and still nothing is eating this 1996 applied adhesive.

More fire.
More wire grinder as that really works best.

The wire grinder removes it slowly and melts it at the same time and it gets on my pant legs.
I am on my knees doing this and got a few globs of melted rubber tossed on my knee area and I tell you what.

It's hot and will make you stand and brush it off in a hurry then it is stuck to your glove and burning through that.
Some of this mess is about .080" thick with the rubber and glue.

Fun times.
:)
Sounds terrible. I would still rather do that than remove tile set in concrete.

I think I would try an air chisel with a wide blade.
I used an oscillating multi tool with different blades and that worked awesome for getting up the carpet.
But so much dirt was embedded deep in the fibers that sand would come out of it and pile up and dull the blades quickly.

Vacuum or sweep the carpet and nothing was seen or felt until you vibrated it with that tool and sand/dirt came out by the truck load.

It will get done just takes time.
I have removed miles of hard tile and asbestos stick down tile with scrapers.
That actually progresses faster than this stickum removal.

Too windy to pour gas on it and light it today.
That worked very well and I added some old paint thinner to the gas to slow the flame and have it burn longer to soften the stuff.

But you do not want the aluminum floor so hot that you end up annealing it.

I have one of those.
It fleshes deer hides really nice.
I have a Generac gasoline power washer you can borrow.
