I'm beat up! I finally got my garden in today ahead of the rain. My wife and I have a good size garden we put in every year(10,330sqft), my back is screaming at me.
Since you should be planting now, I would be wary of what herbicide you use. I would till, rake out what you can, plant, and keep the hoe at the ready. Each year it will get easier.

You can't till in the rain. A mud ball in the tiller will ensue.
You can buy some PH testers in the store, but what I've read, they aren't that good.

Google "testing ph in garden soil" and see what comes up.

I figured that would be the end result, it's looking like I maybe the last person in Oklahoma to get a garden in, damn this procrastinator gene!!!!!
