Thanks guys. I guess what ever I don't carry I will leave the other at home. She is fine with the 26 and I will take her to the range and make sure she can shoot the 642 I got the other day. I guess I really don't need anything! But don't tell my wife, I still might by something new ;)

Buy one of the used S&W police trade in guns on Buds right now. Cheap enough, re-blue it and theres the perfect gun for your needs.

That being said, has she ever shot a revolver? Why are you trying to get away from an automatic? I'd buy something full size in 9mm and leave it at the house for all to use. You, her, your wife, whoever you want to know about it.

Why does it have to be her HD gun? Why cant it just be the HD gun? if you wanted it to be for her and she can do whatever she wants with it including carry it then I revert back to the police trade in however I would still make sure she was comfortable with a revolver. Not all women can't comprehend clearing a malfunction.

This chick is 11 and clearly she has some trouble racking the slide but has no issue realizing the problem and fixing it to get back in the fight. Most of the issues she has seem to be related to short stroking the slide.

Glock 19, high capacity magazine, loaded with low recoil ammo. I let my 76 yr old mother use my G19.. she isn't great at shooting bullseyes when target shooting, so I popped a 33 rd mag in it and told her to empty it at the guy if someone ever broke into the house.

I agree, a g19 or even another g26. She's already trained to use it so it would require minimal teaching. Just a little practice on family shooting trips. My sister drives a g32, she is wanting a g33 when her ccl shows up ;)

Just to throw it out there, I carry a taurus M605 everyday. I shoot it every weekend and have done so for the past year and have never had any problem with it.

My girlfriend doesn't care for the .357 but shooting .38s out of it and she loves it. My buddies' G26 and 19 always seem to smoke stack or jam up way too often.

EAA Witness in polymer. My wife has a Tanfoglio in 38 super that she likes to keep close. She is a small woman but loves big guns. Ohhh...that didn't sound right. Anyway she also has a Rossi .357 as a bug. Full house rounds out of that thing are brutal but she doesn't seem to mind. Might want to look at a cheap S&W Sigma. Lousy trigger but easily fixed - am trying to trade it off in the classifieds for another CZ clone.

I'd go with a home defense shotgun with some home defense loads. Much easier hit the target in stressful situations. No legal issues with being < 21!(if there are any)
