I was just down to "Why am I reading this" when it struck me that this is the face (or maybe the azz) we are showing prospective new members.

Our current format, while a long way from perfect, has tremendous value, but we need a place for inside jokes and apparent trolls other than the general forum, buried down someplace that prospective new members and nonmembers seeking useful info are less likely to get stuff like this and the immortal "post 12." There's a coffee table that would have better gone there too.

The gunboards site used to have a sub forum called "The Minefield," where abut anything went. I think it was still moderated, but it contained stuff they didn't want on their other forums. It may still be there--haven't looked in some time.
