I am new and also starting to shoot long range. I would like to ask what people think about the mil-dot scope.
Not trying to hijack this thread, new and am not allowed to start a thread yet and also thought this went along with this thread.

i dont know about the 308, many better ways to skin a cat.......
you can play with your rifle if you like the sport then invest in some better gear....

a factory 700 in 243 would be the way i go on a budget. get the best you can afford will pay in the long run. would also look at reloading, getting better takes practice and if you dont load ur own, ammo cost will eat you alive. never keep up on the round count for a year ,but i know i buy amaxs in the thousand round lots. great sport will humble you fast.. have fun enjoy .my newest set up.....

HS Precision does make nice ~stuff~.
I've been very pleased with the complete rifle I purchased from them.
(they would have just a stock for your existing -06.
