I gotta ask, is that a M1 Garand clip in the picture? I am under the impression that the M1 Garand was completely phased out by that time.

M1 Garands were given to ARVN soldiers early on. You can see quite a few of them in old videos put out by DOD.

That is awesome!!! You need a M-14. I may have missed it, do you have a bottle of( bug juice )insect repellent ? I carried a M-14 with the happy switch and kept bug juice in a rubber band around my helmet.

Yes i sure do, its on the other side of the helmet. I have a ton of m-14 stripper clips and a bandolier with ammo. But the one that I would like to find next is a m1 carbine. Oddly enough, I don’t remember my dad even owning anything that shot .308

I hope you find an m79 “ thump” gun as they were a unique and at times vital part of our unit, Big Red One!

You a me both. The wood stocked ones bring a premium. Hell just the wood stock alone are high. I did fined some with a composite stock for around $500 to $600

I like that. All of dad’s uniforms are in a suit case somewhere in one of 6 buildings (all of them are packed to the door). Hope to find them and display those as well.

I know where a GI machete is in a pawn shop if your interested, pretty sure it's Vietnam Era but I'll double check this wknd. It's got black plastic grip panels. I think the price is around $100.
