can someone explain to me the reason of distance in these types of wrong doing.... is it safe to have done this wrong doing 1001' and be safe?

I haven't seen the actual law in quite a while, but the last time I read it, it said that it was a greater offense if it occurred within a certain distance of a school, church or child care facility.

I love how a police officer can take part in illegal activities, be arrested for participating in said illegal activities, and be placed on PAID Administrative Leave. WTF?

Separate but equal; we are just peasants that have no reason to complain about this. He'll probably get to keep his pension for when he gets out of jail.

Yep you would almost think they are politicians or something.

What I want to know, was he within 1000 feet of a church or a school? The story says one then the other.

This is Oklahoma......he was probably within 1000 feet of 10 churches. Being that it was in the city he was probably within 1000 feet of 2 schools.

Well thank goodness the morality patrol was there. Without them, there almost certainly would have been another sad case of people freely associating on mutually voluntary terms!!!! :yikes2:

I sware, some people act like this is a free country or something. And for a fellow enforcer of the collective's morality code to be doing this? Oh the shame.

It's called "innocent until proven guility." He's entitled to a trial before being punished.

If you're working in the medical field and get arrested for marijuana on a Friday night, your locker's personal effects will be in a box in the HR office before your next shift starts.

Elitist mentality at it's finest. I will arrest you if you do it, but when I'm not on duty, I'm doing it.

I don't think prostitution should be illegal at all. If one person is cool with putting their junk where god only knows how many other people have been and pay for this privilege then good grief have at it.

I will say that I was surprised first offense was a felony. Or is it only a felony because he had a firearm on him during the commission of a crime? I heard that charge on the radio this morning which makes more sense.

If I understand it correctly there were two felonies. The first was the act within the 1000 feet and the other would be the possession of a firearm while committing a felony.
