TULSA - Tulsa police are investigating a home invasion after five suspects kicked in the door of a home near 31st and Mingo early Saturday.

Police say two adults and four children were home just after 1 a.m. when the five suspects broke into the residence and ordered them to get on the ground.

Investigators say the suspects, described as black males in their early 20s, took televisions, game consoles and other electronic devices.

The homeowner said she thought one shot had been fired during the robbery, but police were unable to find any shell casings or other evidence of a gunshot.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Man In Wheelchair Pistol Whipped During Tulsa Home Invasion
Posted: Oct 20, 2014 2:08 PM CST

TULSA, Oklahoma - A family was robbed at gunpoint this afternoon during a home invasion near Gilcrease Hills. Police said the incident occurred in the 1500 block of West Oklahoma just after 1 p.m.

Police say it was prescription drugs - specifically oxycontin they were after, and they got it by beating up a man in a wheelchair and picking up a woman who is practically bedridden - and throwing her down on the floor.

Chouteau Bighorse said he must not have been moving fast enough for robbers demanding money and pain pills. They hit him on the head with a gun and knocked him out of his wheelchair.

"And I mean, you've heard about people getting hit in the head and seeing stars and birds, I've seen birds and stars," Bighorse said.

Three disabled people live in the mobile home, and they have prescription pain medicine. They believe someone knew they had it - and they were targeted.

The robbers pushed Rebecca Thompson's disabled mother down on the floor.

"It's crazy, I don't understand why," said victim Rebecca Thompson. "Elderly people - it doesn't make sense to me."

The police say the two robbers wore hoodies and gloves, but didn't have their faces covered. The victims were forced to lie face down, at gunpoint, while the robbers searched the house.

"Suspects got the pills and a little bit of cash - a wallet from one of the victims - and they took off on foot," Sergeant Rex Mann, Tulsa Police.

At the intersection of Rosedale and Newton - two blocks from the house - police found a hoodie they believe was dropped by one of the suspects. A K-9 officer lost the trail nearby, where police believe the suspects had a car waiting.

"I hear about it on TV all the time about pharmacies getting robbed, and you know, you take them if you need them, they're not for recreation," said Chouteau Bighorse, crime victim.

The suspect description is vague, so detectives are running down connections to anyone who might have known the victims had oxycontin in the house.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Police say five Oklahoma City residents were taken by surprise when three men, armed with guns and a liquor bottle, forced their way into the family’s home on Thursday morning.

During the robbery the intruders forced the residents at gun point to strip naked and stand against a wall.

Police say three victims were pistol whipped and hit in the head with a liquor bottle.

According to police reports, one victim had a gun to his head while the robbers counted down from four.

However, the robbers where only able to count down to the number two before being interrupted.

That’s when the victims say they heard police identify themselves outside the home, sending the suspects running.

One went out the back window and another hid in the bathroom after he stashed his gun in a bedroom.

Two of the suspects have been arrested, police say they are still searching for other suspects involved.

Too much scum that has made it through childbirth and their early years....say what you about me, but any "correction" coming from mother nature will hopefully clear out the majority of this scum..

TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa Police are searching for two suspects and a white Ford Taurus after a man was robbed and pistol whipped at his home.

Corporal Jack Pike says two men kicked in the front door of a home in the 1700 block of North Lewis at about 11:20 a.m. One had a shotgun, the other what is believed to be a 9mm pistol.

The victim was pistol whipped and robbed of his wallet, phone and car. He went across the street to a paint and body shop to ask for help.

EMSA says the victim, in his late 30s, was taken to the hospital in fair condition. The man was conscious and sitting up on the stretcher as he was taken to a local hospital.

He had obvious trauma to his face.

The stolen 2000 Ford Taurus has an Oklahoma tag: 587 KSM, according to police. One suspect is a black male, about 6 feet tall and between 50 and 60 years of age. The second suspect was a black male, same height and about 25 years old, according to police.

goes to show you why I'll NEVER open front door unless I can positively identify who it is. especially at 2am ...
when someone knocks on the door .. you should always challenge by asking in a loud voice ... WHO IS IT? preferably armed
otherwise they could think no one is home and kick the door in .. they could still kick the door in, but probably will go find an easier target. once they know someone is ready and waiting on other side of door.

OKLAHOMA CITY -

A home invasion led to a gun battle on Oklahoma City’s northwest side early Saturday near Northwest 13th Street and Wilburn Drive.

Police said three men broke into a home about 2 a.m.

A family member who did not want to be identified said her cousin answered a knock on the front door. When she opened it, the family member said the men forced their way inside

I'm not saying squat. The door is not going to offer much resistance to a gun shot while peeking through the little peak hole, and yes, never answer the door without absolutely knowing who is on the other side.

that's why I almost never look through the peep hole ... much safer to use a side window with curtains if you have one.
but it's really important to always challenge any knock at the door with a .. Who's there? or what ever your fav question ..

if you don't challenge a knock at your front door .. potential home invasion thugs may decide no one is home and kick down door.
this is where the unmistakeable sound of racking a shell into your 870 shotty comes in pretty darn handy ... standing to side of the door of course.
