Question. I know a private buisness (say where you work) cannot stop you from having your weapon in your vehicle. My question is can a buisness have a no gun policy that prevents a legal permit holder from carrying on there premisis. I cannot find anything in writing except the normal schools, casinos and things.

Oklahoma has parking lot exemption to cover parking lots, it also has a land around the business exemption. The only thing that can be banned is carrying inside the building.

Title 21 Section 1277 said:
B. For purposes of paragraphs 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 of subsection A of this section, the prohibited place does not include and specifically excludes the following property:
1. Any property set aside for the use or parking of any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, by a city, town, county, state, or federal governmental authority,
2. Any property set aside for the use or parking of any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, by any entity offering any professional sporting event which is open to the public for admission, or by any entity engaged in pari-mutuel wagering authorized by law,
3. Any property adjacent to a structure, building, or office space in which concealed weapons are prohibited by the provisions of this section, and
4 Any property designated by a city, town, county, or state, governmental authority as a park, recreational area, or fairgrounds; provided nothing in this paragraph shall be construed to authorize any entry by a person in possession of a concealed handgun into any structure, building, or office space which is specifically prohibited by the provisions of subsection A of this section.

Yes, private business owners rights are protected under sub-section A of 1290.22....sub-section B is the parking lot/vehicle clause.

TITLE 21 § 1290.22 BUSINESS OWNER’S RIGHTS
A. Except as provided in subsection B of this section, nothing contained in any provision of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act, Section 1290.1 et seq. of this title, shall be construed to limit, restrict or prohibit in any manner the existing rights of any person, property owner, tenant, employer, or business entity to control the possession of weapons on any property owned or controlled by the person or business entity.

New guy question, and please be gentle.
I would like a link or just a simple explanation of my rights with my carry concealed permit. A law enforcement buddy explained what they are allowed to use in the form of deadly force for protection, ie if I come at him with fists, he can use a taser or asp. If I have a club or edged weapon, he can pull his firearm. If I pull a firearm, no brainer, I get shot.
My question is, do I have the same rights, or do I just have to feel like my life, or my families life is in jeopardy to have the right to pull my weapon even if the guy only has a knife or club?
Btw, I am new to this forum, but not to firearms. I have been shooting for the last 30 years, I am just not a "gun nut" in some eyes since I only have 5 guns.

I am not a lawyer, nor have I ever played one on TV. Here is what the law says about use of force:
Title 21 said:
A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.

I believe all you have to do is have reasonable fear that death or great bodily harm will occur to you or anyone else.

So if one guy comes at me with fists, I do not expect death or great bodily harm. Now if he really starts whippin' up on me, and I begin to feel he is going to beat me unconscious, then I might start to feel a bit more fearful. Now if 6 guys come at me with fists, that's another story altogether.

Each situation has to be interpreted based upon the events of that situation.

For more professional advice, I would see the opinion of a qualified attorney.

Let's back up to basics: The concealed carry permit exempts you from two laws. You can carry a gun. You can have the gun loaded. Period
The concealed carry permit does not give you any rights to self defense you did not already have.

Suggest you read the SDA quoted above: http://www.ok.gov/osbi/documents/SDA_Lawbook_NOV_2011.pdf

Will being on a mild anti-depressant medication prevent a person from qualifying for a Conceal and Carry Permit?

Yes
Bc I ran into a problem by putting sleep apnea on my app and they sent me a letter/form for a doctor to fill out and NO DOCTOR will touch it I finally got it taking care of bc it was not supposed to go on the app
But if I was you I would asked my doctor if they would sign off on it
But like I said doctors don't want to be legally responsible for u carrying a handgun
This info is all from my experience with it
Hope this helps

Has anyone seen the latest email floating around about the retired officers and VA hospital questionnaires asking if you have guns at home and whether you keep them loaded or locked up? seems a little sneaky if you ask me. Th e Government is trying anything to find out where the guns are.

The AMA has been after doctors for awhile to ask these questions because it may help in determining the cause of some injuries. IMO, it is a completely unethical question. It would be easy to tell if an injury was firearms related or not. Luckily in OK, you don't have to answer those questions and the dr can not refuse you service for not answering (at least after Nov 1 that will be the case).

I have had my CCW since March. My wife is fixin to get her application turned in this coming week. We recently moved out of my parents house into our own. On our licenses they both say my parents address. My permit also lists the old address. She asked me if she should put our new address even though her license still says the old one. Will we get into trouble if we live at another address than what our drivers license and CCW says? Both my drivers license and my CCW say the same address which happens to be my parents. I know that this post may sound a little confusing. Sorry about that. I know that I read somewhere that if you move then you have to send in to get another CCW with the new address. My wife just got a new drivers license so she doesn't want to go get a new one if she doesn't have to. As long as we won't get into trouble then I will just leave mine the way that they are. And I will also tell my wife to put our old address on there. I appreciate yall's help.
