I was asked elsewhere when this photo was taken. It seems that the fuel price sign shows diesel cheaper than unleaded gas. For the record, it was August 21, 2009, and we were headed for Pagosa Springs for a two week vacation. First ever two week one we ever took.

That's what you try to do every year or so to practice up for retirement.

We used to take nice vacations every year with family for 30 yrs. Visited Disney World, cruises to Bahamas, Puerta Vallarta ,etc. When we retired, we have not taken as many yet (Wash. state) and a few more cruises. We now watch our grandchildren, priceless...They are still in school and in a few more yrs., we will again go on more travels.

Tourist trap, in other words. Wonder how many tourists are there when the temps are in the 20's.

On another note, we got a call from the wife's cousin up in Idaho. They will be celebrating their 50th anniversary in May and wondered if we would like to come up for that. Hot Dog!!!! Road trip and the chance to see new country and photograph as much as possible.

Can hardly wait. Wife said that when we go up, it will be just us as she wants her sisters to make their own way up. Wife doesn't want to have to cut our time short up there because the sisters want to return home.

Good evening gang.

Awesome day of fishing in the Atlantic today. 38 miles off shore and the water was so calm. Caught a bunch of Red Snapper (see pics) and was catching a lot of Amberjack. The problem was, we would get them half way up to the boat and the sharks would tear them up. Angie actually got hers all the way to the boat, then the shark took everything but the head (see pic).


We had a blast and props to Bloodline Fishing Charters. They were amazing.

Now off to the showers and to dinner.

Passed this little Tiki Hut boat on the way in.
Pulled up and had a drink. I need this for our lake house. I could make my retirement on the lake selling drinks to boaters . LOL!!
