Sorry to hear this. I asked my VA doctor about this on my last visit. He told me that in the medical profession, they had came to the conclusion they were over treating prostrate cancer.
The markers that showed a man had it sometimes reaches a certain level and then stops. According to him, a lot of Doctors were thinking that they had to be aggressive when the first signs showed up and it was only causing problems for the patient with the side effects when if they had not taken the intrusive surgical treatment, their side effects would have not been an issue.
I'm paraphrasing on the above as a general statement that I was told. I'm not referencing any specific medical advice. Just what I was told.
