My dad has a S&W .357 that got wet while in the trunk of a car and is needing it cleaned up and reblued. It has some rust on it. Who is the go to person in okc for this kind of repair?

If you're not worried about it looking all brand new again, you can use 00000 or 000000 steel wool and gun oil, and remove the rust.

Outside of that, I haven't found a favorite gunsmith yet, so you may just want to Google gunsmiths in the OKC area if you don't get a reply.

He will want it refinished and looking new. It was his wifes gun that passed away from cancer.

If you don't mind shipping the revolver, Smith & Wesson themselves does a great job of re-bluing. Harsh Firearms (they are in Norman, http://harshfirearms.com/) does very good work with Cerakote. They could potentially come up with a look similar to the original blue or a custom creation. Two Rivers Arms (they are in Oklahoma City, http://tworiversarms.com/Services.htm) does a very nice blue, but according to their website, they are not currently taking any new work.

This is what I would do. Or for a nice savings; drop it off at my house on your way to work I'll have it ready when you get off.

I have a Smith that was my grandfathers, so I understand sentimental value.

There would only be one option for me - send it to S&W and have it refinished from the Factory.
