This has great potential to cause great damage, not only to the firearm industry, but to virtually every business. In better times, this would never have made it to court, but in today's world they could very well win. We joke about claims against auto makers and phone manufacturers, but think of the expense every industry will incur as gold diggers explore their new playgrounds.

So Dodge sold some guy a 707hp Hellcat...... which is "more dangerous" apparently than a Toyota Camry. He runs from the cops and kills someone.... the family can now sue Dodge because they KNEW it was "more dangerous" than other cars?

Rational thought and logic has no place in the courtroom! We must decide guilt based on how the events made us feel.

Right? Right? :mean:

Every time I bring up this analogy to the people making the gun manufacturer argument, they agree that Dodge shouldn't be liable. But they also say it's ok to go after the gun manufacturers because nobody will do anything else about the problem. Yeah, it's frustrating.

Ask them if they believe in freedom.

While I agree with you, I think the objective is not to win a judgement against the gun manufacturers, but to put gun manufacturers out of business.
