Has anyone here done this? I've read about it on Arfcom, and am considering doing it. Much easier and cleaner than pin/weld it looks like.

Any pics?

Well - the problem is that you're heating up the barrel steel (if you're doing it right) and that's a delicate process to do without damaging the barrel.

Mike at Oklahoma Police Supply did a Phantom 5-port on mine.

Silver solder will melt at around 1250-1500 deg F (depending on alloy) and will typically flow at 10-50 degrees above melting temp. Depending on your barrel temper, this may or may not effect your barrel. You will definitely have to refinish your barrel and flash hider.

I just know that the guys on arfcom have used the stuff from brownells and other sites that have a melt temp of 1150* and haven't had a problem with anything. Not even hurt the phosphate finish.

We'll see I guess. I think I'll try it...
