This doesn't fit very well with the human induced Global Warming Theory

very interesting read. in addition the quake that took out the japanese nuke plant knocked the planet 1.5 degrees (from memory so don't condemn me if my remcaller isn't accurate) off axis...seems things the planet does, all on it's own, really makes it in control. and we think we can stop the planet from doing whatever it wants to do thru some puny attempt or a paris accord. what a hoot

They are cutting the trees down in the rain forest to grow plants used to make biofuels for environmentally efficient cars.
Is that not kicking your own a$$?

I've said it before and I will say it again if we want to reduce CO2 there is only one real solution ....more trees, less people

The EPA says US carbon dioxide emissions are running in the range of 5000 to 6000 million metric tons per year. The article referenced estimates 600 million tons (metric? it doesn't say, but a metric ton is about 10% more mass than a 2000 lb ton) in February 2013.
So the US alone emits 8-10 times as much as all the volcanoes in the world in round numbers.
We can't do much about volcanic emissions, but we can do something about emissions created to fulfill human needs. Fossil fuels will go the way of the horse and buggy. That will be good for the economy too, just not for the fossil fuel businesses.

Agreed that eventually fossil fuels will probably go away on their own, no matter what, but the key difference between Liberals and Conservatives on this is that Liberals love to ignore basic economic forces in an effort to craft their own more "ideal" circumstances. Instead of waiting for natural economic forces like supply/demand and attendant cost adjustments to make alternative sources economically competitive, a select group of "experts" want decide what is best for the economy and then ordain which fuels may be used and how and when. Right now, the only way for most alternative sources to be even close to competing is via massive subsidies - that's not a long term sustainable solution.

One might also make the case the fossil fuel industries (and other emissions and other waste producing industries) are subsidized by improper accounting - the failure to consider the costs imposed on those outside the industry by their emissions.
Why are corporations allowed to walk away from sites they used to make money with for years and leave others - taxpayers - the clean up the mess. There are many projections of sea level rise from the change in our climate, if even the least of them is true it's going to cost billions of dollars. Guess who's going to pay!
We let governments get away with it too.Look at Flint MI. People died there, the people responsible should be in prison for a long time if there was any justice.
I suppose we are getting what we deserve. As long as we allow ourselves to be manipulated by b******t from both ends of the political spectrum we're just staggering our way to oblivion.

But I think you missed the rest of the article? In 1992 it was thought to be 100 million tons, in 2000 it as 200 million tons, and now it's thought to be 600 million tons? The point you missed is we don't really know but in 3 decades we have a number 6 times higher than the "scientists" once thought. Simply put we can't measure it considering all the under water volcanos ......that would be hard to track? Besides how much CO2 is being produced by u billion people ? 600 million lbs of CO2 annually, now add cows, chickens, wildlife ...etc?
