Hard to tell from these pics but the "thumb" looks way too small to be human.

I think we're beyond thinking it's human, we're just waiting for his story of crawling through the brush, cursing ridgehunter and perplexed the whole way for talking him into doing it, finding the dead dog covered in maggots, and puking his guts out while trying to pose it in the right position to get the appropriate pictures.

I vote black mountain lion. They're all over this state. And the color can be determined by the bones, I assure you.

Dont you guys think its kind of strange that there is no fur on it? Wouldn't you think a dog foot with that much skin (or what appears to be skin in the 2nd pic) would also have fur?

Sorry for the delay, its like a frigging rain forrest back where the carcas was.... as you can see by the pic, the dog is completely decayed.... dont think whatever I have is from that dog. Alwasy possible there are other animals they could have got it from, its a couple of 6 month old pups that have free run of the place, no telling where they found it at.
