To go along with the natural gas fired grill, I wanted a charcoal grill too. So I made this out of heavy gauge plate and stainless round bar. I had the plate laying around, but that 3/8" stainless bar I used to make the grate was way too much $. Could have bought a new grill for what I paid for the stainless. But this should last a while...

Weber Genesis for grilling and an off-set firebox smoker for real BBQ.

To me, the Weber was worth it, as I use it a lot. I've worn out several other grills after 3 or 4 seasons. The Weber should (better) last a long time.

I have had my Weber for over 10 years now, still going great - best grill I have ever owned. I have done the cheapo grills and had a Char-Broil and they were pretty much disposable units.
