Southwest Shooters..a Remington 700 BDL Vaminter in 243..Total cost was 134 dollars...Speaking of OTASCO..I still have some of the Chanuck 12 gauge shotgun shells that came from Otasco.. My brother has a little JC Higgins .22 that he bought from Sears and it was mailed to our house..I'm not sure of the price but I think it was around 20 dollars...

I bought a Chinese SKS right out of the crate at a gun show at the fairgrounds. I had been saving money and was mad they had just went up from $85 to $100.

Colt Buntline Scout .22 was ordered from Sears Roebuck and Co. in 1960 for $59 plus $3 shipping. It was shipped by rail and at 14, I went to the Missouri Pacific Depot and signed for my package. Those were the good old days.

My Dad bought me my first 4 guns @ Sears where he had a charge account. My first purchase on my own was a marlin model 60 from Whites Auto Store in Plainview Texas where I worked and put it on lay-a-way for about $60.00 then a winchester model 70 in .243 for $200.00 both in 1981
