I just recently acquired an LMT SOPMOD for my Bushmaster AR. My question is what do I need besides an LMT Mil-Spec extension tube to get this mounted to my Bushy?

Just FYI, one item that i am going to get along with LMT tube is an H buffer as well.

If anybody has done this here, or if you have info to share, please let me know. Thanks.

Cool, very simple then.
Grab the paddle that's used to collapse the stock, pull it outwards and then pull the stock off of the tube.
Replace with the Sopmod similarly.

No other parts needed.

Then you'll have to get the Milspec tube and probably the nut to hold the stock on. You shouldn't need anything else.

That's kinda weird. I have a Bushmaster and haven't had any problems fitting mil-spec stocks on it.

Then your stock either doesn't fit right or the tube isn't commercial-spec.

To the OP - You don't need another buffer/spring/castle nut/retainer.

You can upgrade the buffer but understand that your setup might not need it or benefit from it at all (what barrel length, carbine/mid/rifle gas-system, plan on running a suppressor, primary ammo you're using etc...).

LMT makes a good extension tube, but I like VLTOR's tubes better.

I'm planning on ordering an LMT Mil-Spec Tube.

I have the 16" M4 carbine type of bushmaster. Would you recommend an H buffer and sling mount?

Also, do I need to take this to a gunsmith in order to replace tube?

Thanks for the info.
