Do You Have SHTF Plan?

Hello guys and gals. I have a question or two that I would to get opinions on.

Do you have a SHTF (sh*t hits the fan) Plan and if so, what are you stockpiling?

What firearm is your "go to" in the event of a national/economic collapse?

I have a .308 tactical rifle and I've been juggling the idea of whether I should invest in a good .22 rifle or spend a little extra and get a decent .223 rifle, or maybe I should consider getting both? At the present time, I don't have a pistol or anything for home protection such as a 12ga pump, which is something else I need to consider puchasing in the very near future.

I have a relative who has accumulated somewhere in the neighborhood of 5000rds because he swears by the .22 caliber. My opinion is that it's not enough to put someone down unless you hit them between the eyes.

I don't stockpile. I prepare for certain inevitabilities ... like tornados, ice storms and the husband sneaking off in the middle of the night ...

Most of us are 100% reliant on our industrial food network. If the SHTF event lasts longer than a month millions are going to starve. Don't count on hunting your way out of it. The animals probably won't last too long. In the United States If you have food and water for a couple weeks and medical supplies backed up by enough guns and ammo to fight off those less prepared you are in good enough shape. Beyond that, there is no way to predict what you will need.

I've been considering the purchase of 50lb bags of rice, beans, etc. Stuff that will provide a cheap meal and will last for weeks at a time. I think an economic meltdown is much closer than many want to believe and when it happens, people will become desperate and they'll resort to whatever they need to do in order to feed their families.
