Oklahoma city one at the cowboy hall of fame, Thursday, august 9, at 6 pm. If you have not been to one of these you should go. if you live outside the metro, find the one closest to you.

I am kinda wondering what to expect. The website didn't really help me out. The best I can tell is that I can spend $40 for an opportunity to spend more money on auctions, merchandise and donations. I would assume I also get food and hopefully some entertainment.

Can anyone give a run down of what to expect at a Friends of the NRA banquet?

Thanks,

Slack

I am not trying to hijack this thread but I am on the FNRA committee in Tulsa, Yes you pay $40.00 for dinner and a chance to spend more money, But you can win lots of cool stuff including guns, prints and other items that are limited editions ALL the money raised at these banquets go to deserving youth programs right here in Oklahoma and NOT to the NRA. Last year we paid out over $457,000.00 to these programs in Oklahoma. They also fund the Eddie Eagle program which I have first hand knowledge of 2 incidents that this program works!! If you have never been to one you should go check it out and support them and know that you are helping out some deserving kids and maybe win a nice gun or other cool item. I sold a $50.00 "Bakers Dozen" ticket to a member on this site last year and he won a Walther PPK stainless .380 pistol! Even if you don't win something you can feel good that you helped a good cause. They have silent and live auctions along with the Bakers Dozen drawing, Wall of Guns drawing, Cup games, Bucket Raffles and other games.
If anyone is interested in the Tulsa banquet it is Aug. 16th and you can P.M. me for info but you guys in the OKC area should really go check out their banquet!!!

And you get to meet the incredible Hoov! No, really. I am on the committee here in OKC. There are a ton of guns we will raffle off, give away, et cetera. Food, drinks, door prizes. Plus, you do actually help local events. There are games for kids, games for kids my age, local celebrity sightings. If we could just get one of the Ogles to show up...

These are a dang good time. We already had our Canadian county banquet and it was a huge success ! Theirs side raffles limited entry raffles and all in all a chance to spend money that benifits youth and the shooting sports. The wall of guns, the bucket raffles. I can go on and on but hey you won't know if you don't go. It's the only kind of gambling I participate in. And if I don't win at least my money goes to a great cause. Stop by and show your support.
