Cold front coming this weekend...what soup/chili/stew are you cooking?

I've been wanting to smoke some ribs or brisket, this might be a good weekend for it. Maybe throw some potatoes on there also. Beans some good too. This thread is making me hungry. lol

Good ole fashioned pinto beans with ham hock and homemade corn bread made in cast iron. Or one of my favorites elk shepards pie. (ground elk, mixed veggies one can tomato soup and covered with mashed potatoes) also with corn bread.

Ohhhh ... that'd be GREAT!! To my way of thinking, the more the merrier!! Especially when "appropriately paired" beverages are involved ...

I've got nowhere to go tomorrow so I'm thinking about smoking a chicken for dinner ... which reminds me I better go get the bird out of the freezer so it can thaw ...

The hardest part about smoking a chicken is keeping it lit... MUCH harder to do when it's frozen too so I'd say you're on the right track.
