Filet is way overrated, anywhere you go. Not enough fat, they're too lean.
Go with a bone-in ribeye, otherwise known as a Cowboy steak. Or go with a porterhouse, that way you get the best of both worlds.

Oh, and the best place to get a steak in the city is at my house.....but the service stinks. :)

+1 on that! I don't care if my steak is fork tender if it has no taste.

1. The Ranch (This is not up for debate.)
2. Longhorn (If I'm feeling cheap.)

Haven't been to Mahogany. Sound like I need to try it. Though if I'm going for prime, I know for a fact the Ranch is awesome so it's hard to try something unknown.

Also, Ken's in Amber is 10 minutes away. I will drive an hour one way every time to get a good steak if that tells you anything.
I will make the drive for a steak 7 days a week before making the drive for lame Eichens breaded grease.

Still can't figure out why anyone orders anything but filet mignon at a steak place.

The filet is a ladies steak. When I pay someone else to make me a steak, I want a 20 oz. ribeye, not a snack.

This guy knows what he is talking about.

Longhorn has the bone in ribeye, I think it is called the Outlaw Ribeye, good stuff for a casual chain steakhouse.

The best steak I ever had was at Ruth's Chris in Chicago, of course it was the biggest ribeye they had. That was many years ago.

I had a pretty good steak at Morton's of Chicago in Houston once. It was a great experience, the best service ever, by far, but I'm glad some one else was paying for it.

The Doc Holiday ribeye at Cimmaron Steak House is good.
I will second the Saltgrass in Norman. I took the ol lady there for our anniversary and my steak was one of the best I have had. I also like their sweet potato fries!

The best steak I have ever had is at La Fortuna BBQ in Duncan. He only serves them one night a week, and it is the best steak you will ever eat.

I have been to men's in Amber twice and both times my steak was so tough, I couldn't finish it. Maybe I just catch them on a bad night?

Close first and second, Clicks in Pawnee and The Vintage House in Burlington, Ok. Mahogany and Saltgrass next. Haven't tried any of the Tulsa steakhouses so I can't comment. But without a doubt, the worst, toughest, odd flavored, worst, toughest, did I mention toughest and worst???? Is Cattlemen's. Love the resturant and everything about it but the steaks are just not good. Other food there is good, but not the steaks. Gave it three tries and gave up.

Mahogany, 5-star. I take my mom and wife there once a year for thier birthdays. Save your allowance for this one but well worth it!
Click's, Pawnee. Jump on the Harley and road trip over there with friends. If you leave hungry, it's your fault. Reasonably priced and worth the drive.
Texas Roadhouse ribeye. Best chain resturaunt ribeye I've ever had. The rolls are appetizer, side, and dessert in themselves.

Now i'm hungry!!!
