So this week I've been on vacation from work, and doing a remodel on my bathroom.... Anyways, I carry 99% of the time I have pants on.(unless at work... They are anti-freedom, Nazi's) but this week I've been open carrying my G22 in a Safariland ALS paddle holster, first outing was to Tractor Supply in Mustang, and i think I had one other customer do a double take when they walked by, but nothing else.
Then tonight, I just ran to Walmart in Mustang, and had a real good experience. A few employees and customers seemed to have goofy looks on their faces but nothing negative was said at all.

I'm still trying to get use to the idea of open carry, but so far so good.

That's interesting. I do have my concealed permit, since January of this year, and I've thought about open carrying but have not done so yet.

I have yet to see anyone open carrying.

Since I took my concealed class, last October, I try to always keep my eyes open and look for this but I have not seen anyone open carrying. I have even gone to Beverly's, across from Baptist Hospital, because I saw on the news when open carry became legal, that some open carriers went there late at night to eat. I like the food there and love to eat breakfast late at night, but I just haven't seen anyone there, or anywhere else, open carrying.

I hope some others post here about their experiences with either themselves open carrying or seeing someone else open carry.

The truth is open carry attracts some loons....."Hey look at me"! I know one guy that has a license, almost never carried concealed but now wears around a long barrel chrome revolver, never loaded.

I've yet to fully open carry, but I carry in a Blackhawk SERPA holster, so it's not exactly concealed either. I never tuck my shirt in anyway, don't see a reason to start, so my shirt hangs over the top.

No one seems to notice.

The same thing was said about CC'rs when Oklahoma first enacted the SDA many years ago. There were people then that would go around bragging about having an Oklahoma CWL and either telling anyone that would listen, or showing their weapon to friends any chance they got. Why did you choose to rag on OC'rs. The same sentence could read "The truth is ***** attracts some loons..." It matters not what the item or activity is, there will be loons. The real question is, do you lump all OC'rs with the loons, or lump all the loons with loons?

I think the real truth is for as many people that have a handgun license very few actually carry concealed or otherwise. Everyone says they carry all the time, most do not. A small percentage of people carry more than 50% of the time and an even smaller percentage of those people open carry.
