I really can't get on board with the "liberals/conservatives/space alients/etc. create or created" the current situation, I just can't. I think all of that, coupled with "hoplessness", "lack of quality education" (I mean, how much money do you need to throw at it?), "lack of opportunity", etc., are just excuses people with a guilt complex make for others acting like stupid savages. I've known plenty of poor people, people with little means, and, because of their "lack of education" or other reasons, had a very limited future. And they didn't commit crime. They didn't live in a run-down, single wide trailer with two Chrysler's on blocks in front of it. They didn't shell out a pup once a year for a decade. Nada. Just because a person is poor, or has limited themselves (yes, in many cases) doesn't mean that they have to be criminal, scumbag slobs. I've seen plenty be poor with dignity, and live their lives as best they could as responsible citizens. Damn all of that "no one gave me an opportunity" ********. That's Cultural Marxist drivel. These three "bored" teens had as much opportunity to succeed as any poor person in the nation, but chose to emulate the ignorant, urban ghetto turd persona. Hang all three of them.

Here's a question - what if the parents are mentally unstable (because they were raised by mentally unstable parents)? What if a large part of society is basically mentally lacking in something necessary to raise kids, but are doing so anyways?

Then how do you fix that?

Serious question btw, and I'm not saying that's what the current situation is, but it's not too far from it and you basically start getting into human-rights when you dictate what they can do reproductively / within the walls of their house when raising kids.

What if parents just don't care - and in the cases where their criminal kids are caught, the parents are thrown into jail along with (or in lieu of - either way) the kids? Does that solve the problem?

IMO, it's a start, but not nearly a solution. Does that mean we don't really have a solution and things will just have to only get slightly better but basically remain the same?

Would not surprise me if the parents were on the public dole. I have often said that many programs encourage people to have kids they don't want or cant take care of. You let someone know their benefits are going to get cut off they get pregnant on the dole ( welfare, wic, food stamps, section 8) and you might change behavior. You allow one "accidental pregnancy" then offer norplant at taxpayer cost as we save money in the long run. I would actually be ok with donating money so they could give the woman $100 for taking the norplant. I guarantee within 20 years we would be a more intelligent and safer society, but there would be lots less politicians like Obama elected.

It was random, dude. The only reason he "knocced" out 5 "woods", is because of the demographics; there's only 240 black people in Duncan, so "woods" were all that was available. Haven't you read this thread?

Gotcha! I was just wanting to make sure that the notion of a black teenager acting out in violence, and prefacing it with racial slurs, was still inconceivable.

I asked a question and called out a poster for posting BS and speculation with no evidence. That somehow "gives minorities who do these kinds of things that power"? So you're basically saying that posting BS and speculation with no evidence (and nobody calling you out for it) removes power from minorities who do these kinds of things?
