As above, I think I want a new EDC handgun. Currently I daily carry a 5" Springfield 1911-A1 lightweight. Something a bit smaller, a bit lighter, and with more rounds. I like .45 auto, but it's not a requirement. However, a commonly available handgun round is a requirement, so 9x19mm, .40 s&w, or .45 auto. No crazy suggestions like .357 sig, or .45 gap. Furthermore I really really like a good crisp single action trigger, but again, it's not a requirement. Maybe da/sa?
Springfield EMP?? That keeps you with the same platform i.e. 1911A1, but smaller and lighter.

Not sure I wanna spend $900 on a 9mm pocket pistol. Suppose I'd have to shoot one. Though it still doesn't address the desire for a larger capacity.
If only somebody made an alloy frame commander size 1911 in 9mm with a double stack magazine that holds 12-14 rounds. That'd be perfect.
Somebody does. STI VIP in 9mm holds 15+1 or 17+1. Now to convince the wife that I need another smaller 1911 that's more than twice what the first one cost.
