He was drunk off his ass and his boat was right behind him. Three times drunk followed by a boat. NOBODY got hurt. Smells like funny to me. I'll head his legal defense fund. I'll be his sponsor at AA. But it still smells funny to me.

Being a lightweight drinker I have a question. To have a alcohol level of three times the legal limit would a person have to have a history of heavy drinking or can a person who drinks occasionally reach that level without passing out?

Yeppers. Anytime a member of a law enforcement agency gets in trouble with the law, it is a detriment to all the others in that agency. I think there might have been 2 or 3 incidents that occurred during our time at the OSBI. I can guarantee that in spite of the extensive background check done by them, there are always those occasional ones that come along. And rightfully so, those individuals that have demonstrated poor judgement need to be out of their agency.

And oddly enough, those particular folks seem to come "out of hiding" somewhere after they've been on 5 years, but less than 10. I'd sure like to see the stats on how many officers either leave the job (or do something illegal, like this guy) in that time period versus the number of officers who stay on and continue to do their jobs like they have sworn to do.

There is an article about the "phases" LEO go through in their 20 years. It's meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but I've seen an awful lot of truth in it's description of the 4 5-year phases that an officer goes through during their 20 years on the job.

This is not even cop bashing. I'm not a cop basher. If the young man calls me I'll get him an infomercial. You guys assume this is the end of the road for this kid. This is only the beginning.

He doesn't represent anyone but himself. He'll get straightened out. That's all there is to it.You're coming down a little harder on him than I am.

We'll have to disagree there - a police officer who's drunk while on duty deserves to be lambasted. He represents the force of law with his badge and arresting powers, so to be drunk during such a time is NOT kosher.

And to be driving a vehicle while drunk? That's not funny in any way, shape, or form, police officer or not. He's very fortunate no one was hurt or killed because of his stupidity.

I dunno. I'm kinda a lightweight too and I get to the passing out point when most, even moderate, drinkers are just getting started. Where's tRidiot when you need him? I bet he could answer that question ... physiologically speaking, anyway ...

+1... If true, the 'facts' if they are facts, seem to indicate that the people have lost a motorboat. I'm not sure what to make of that. Times being what they are, we'll just have to wait and see.

Well someone's gotta say it. I LOVE motorboating.

And that's all I got to say about that!

I don't even know what to say. I try not to cop bash only to be refuted by cop bashers. This represents that. The world has been destroyed by Platonists. I should have known that going in.
