I did tell them that I did not have it all that I had used parts on other projects all they got was aluminum tube. I Wonder how they would have reacted if I had all the parts that came with it. I fill lucky and yes they were doing their job. I just wondered why after two years.

Owning a solvent trap or any parts thereof is not illegal. If that were the case, the ATF would knock on the door of every person who has ever bought an oil filter at Wal-Mart, or Autozone to change their oil at home. Same for owning a D size Mag-Lite, a piece of pipe, or any manner of other tubular items.
In fact, if you got 'knocked' I hope you realize by now that someone called you in for doing something stupid and very very illegal. the fact that you spent your own money on an item on Ebay has zero to do with it.
