Female Hunter creates outrage with trophy photos

Seems like a dose of medicine back you males does not go over very well does it? Some one states another opinion on here, and you males go to making snarky remarks, then when the person comes back you take it as an attack on your manly hood. Sad that some of you still have such male egos at the ages you are. Real grown men out grow those little boy egos. Some of you still have some growing to do.


I have raised my daughter to chose a man like her late father, a man that does not a ego that he cannot accept others opinions and such, a man that hunted and fished his whole life without the need to take a animal that was not for food. He taught us that, and that is what we adhere to. He worked in the oilfield his whole life, making to lead driller for the largest drilling company in the state. Men like him are few and far between. So sad to see men, grown men that will make smart remarks to a woman over her opinion of shooting such a animal as a Giraffe. Maybe that is why there are not more women on this site who do like to shoot, hunt and fish. Think about it. Maybe hold off on the smart remarks.

I will mostly not participate in this site, except try to learn by just reading, seems like the members here cannot handle either a woman's opinion or any opinion that does not set well with the dominate male egos on here. It is sad to learn this, because women can and do hunt, fish and do things along the same lines as this web sites main purpose. But I have been a member for a bit, and have noticed there are very, very few women who participate, and I have to say it again. Why is that? Could it be the male ego snarky remarks to a woman that has a differing opinion? Do you males want your own little corner so you can puff up at each other with out a woman pointing it out to you? I think so. While sad as it is, it is what it is. Only the members here can change that. I was a member at the other site for a short while too, there were several women there and they were welcoming as well as the men on that site, but it was shut down suddenly. They seemed to be more accepting of women on their site.

I've never had any issues with anyone here and nobody has had any issues with me here in almost 10,000 posts in 5 years, no issues with male or female........on here and on the other forum you mentioned........I've even eaten dinner at get togethers with male/female members and traded sand plum jelly for chicken and duck eggs with one of the other lady members. Every one has their opinions, that's what makes these forums great. I didn't attack your opinion, I just stated another view point about the fish and even used the same word you did "sick".............. I'm perfectly fine with agree to disagree on an issue, you are the one who's taken it to another level.

Fish On, giving you the benefit of the doubt, and assuming you are not trolling, I think you might have mistook the remark about "fish suffocating," as a personal attack, when the member was simply comparing the killing of animals, (i.e., shooting an animal is killing the same way depriving a fish of water is killing an animal). Certainly, Okie is not the kind of guy that would attack you in such a way out of the blue.

You became defensive and lashed out at ALL male members with comments about "male egos, etc." Nobody knew your gender until you brought it into the argument. 99% of the men here are very respectful of women. Most of us would take an ass kicking before we would stand by and see a woman hurt or mistreated. Maybe you should examine why you were so quick to perceive Okie's comment as an insult and so quick to lash out. YOUR ego was bruised. This just became a focal point for other things that are bothering you. Which is OK. That happens to a lot of folks. We all have over determined reactions at times. It's part of being human. Read the initial comment that made you angry again and give some thought to the fact that it had nothing to do with your screen name. Any other fussiness after that was based on a misconception.

We all make mistakes and we all are a forgiving bunch. You won't find a better group of people in an internet community. Even the ones that get mad and run off for a while are pretty good folks. These folks go out of their way to help one another. So, your participation is up to you. But, if you are sincere, and who and what you say you are, you'd be missing out on an opportunity to make some friends just because of a misunderstanding.

Your typical of the responses I got after I gave my opinion. Killing a Giraffe is not like fishing for food. Your trying to defend the ones that got snarky first. Sure I did go on the defensive, and most likely should not have. But to come back and try to be smart aleck about someone that disagrees with killing of such an animal is ludicrous.

I can appreciate you stance on defending your fellow members here, as one gentleman defended his friend. This is clearly not a site for women to participate in. Or for that matter, anyone that believes that killing animals for sport. I do not see any women that are active on this site, there were on the other site that went dead. They were courtesy and very helpful when I asked for some help in finding pistol shooting lessons for my daughter and myself. But they went away.

Now I am as confused as much as the Giraffe killing when called a Troll? What is a Troll? Is it someone who disagrees with the male masses here? If so, I am one then.

Now I ask you all that are asking me to go back and read. You all go back and read, and see just how many smart aleck remarks are made to my opinion.
