I didn't say there isn't a large trade deficit.
Try another straw man.

It's not a strawman, it's just the end result of something you said is "rhetoric." Namely, if it's just "rhetoric" then explain how the deficit is so large and how China doesn't try to manipulate trade with the U.S.

And, of course, trade policy is one area where they continue to share their big gobment socialist agenda. Fair enough. Fair enough. I'm not saying otherwise. Bernie was just talking. The time has come and Trump's doing.

Ah yes, got it..... Trump is a socialist lol.

No, rhetoric is using emotionally charged words like "cheat" to stir up negative emotions that can be exploited for political gain.
Demogoguery.

There's a lot of confusion about trade deficits.
Those interested should read this...

People who blame cheating on trade either don't know what they are talking about or deliberately deceving.
I'll leave it to you to decide.

Can't really speak on the "cheating" comment per se, that's all you.

I'm pretty sure the laws of economics haven't changed since 1998.
Possibly not as far as politicians running the economy the way it's always been ran per the rules of politics be it Republican or dimocrat, but the new sheriff is in town and he is not following the "rules" designated by politics and those that expound the failed policies that got our economy into the terrible shape it was in.
The results are speaking for themselves. You can quote and believe in all the "economist theories" you wish, but nothing says anything about the economy but said results.
