Ya'll act surprised. CTD, Buds, Optics Planet, they and a long list of other companies did this during the 2012 and 2016. THey keep doing it becuase they can get away with it.

It's a way of limiting sales to retain inventory for others. It's the WRONG way, but it does work to an extent. And they get to pocket a huge profit which is awfully convenient, but "limiting sales" is how they spin it. 
I saw a post on Powder Valey's FB page, they do it the right way. They don't raise prices, instead they put in purchase limits. They stated that sales have basically exploded in the last couple of days.

Gonna be another dryspell, just like I thought and .22 will get crappy again due to them cranking it out 24/7/365. I wonder if .223 will be cheaper to shoot than .22 like last time?
Not for me. I learned my lesson and the walmart selloff was good for me. I cleaned out three walmarts in my area of all pistol ammo early in the AM cheaper than I can reload.
My heirs may get to shoot some of it.
The .22 has years of competition shooting behind the stash. Never make the decision that "I have enough" again, and it's working out for me in this situation.
I missed out on the Wal Mart deal mostly because I'm pretty stocked up too and wasn't really watching. I did make a run up there when I saw just how deep the discount was though but was too late. I bet they are kicking their own ass later this week over that pricing!
I'm just wishing I had a few thousand extra in "mad money" to buy some "bang" stocks right now. It's looking like a couple of two baggers are real possibilities from now up to the election. Oh well, I do have a little in the game already, but it's damned hard not to dip into my emergency stash. I suspect I'll have to actually use it for it's intended purpose if things don't change pretty quick. I'm not holding my breath.
