What is sad is that we live in a time when the truth is called a lie and a lie is called the truth.

The truth is that many know what they believe but have no knowledge about what the bible says. I ask just about every week "What does the bible say?" Not what do you think it says or what have you been taught but what does it actually say. We will all be held accountable to what the bible actually says and not our belief of what it says.

This is not directed toward any specific person in this thread. However if you feel convicted then you need to repent. :)

A lie is a lie. Just because people want to try to spin things to fit their doesn't narrative make them the truth. A lie is lie. Some big lies told in this thread. Some big repenting needs to be done by those spouting them.

Ok there Freddy.... you are very correct according to Freddy 3:16 God so loved the world that he only saves those who worship in a conservative way because thou is saved by works and not by faith.
No we are not saved by works. We are saved by grace through faith. But we also have to 1. Believe in Jesus, 2. Confess and repent of our sins, 3. Be baptized to have our sins forgiven, 4. Then live an obedient life. Acts 2:38. I can list scripture after scripture on salvation. But still most refuse to believe it. Most want to believe that all you have to do is believe and your saved. That is a lie. Jesus even said we had to be “born again of water and the spirit”. That is referring to being baptized. We ONLY receive the Holy Spirit when we are baptized for forgiveness. If someone hadn’t then they don’t have the Holy Spirit. Because after all, even demons believe in Jesus and shutter. So Your telling me that demons are going to heaven? I don’t think so. And that is the biggest reason most want to attend places like life church. They teach the lie that you just have to believe and that baptism is a “showing of your faith”. There is only ONE faith and ONE baptism. Why would they do that? Because it’s much easier to live believing you just have to believe. It’s a heck of a lot harder living the way scripture teaches. Being a Christian is a huge sacrifice. We are to deny ourselves and take up our cross every single day. And that ain’t easy. I have had many folks tell me that all you have to do is believe and your going to heaven. Period. No other things are required. Not only is that a lie, it’s ridiculous. I’m real sure Jesus came down here and went through what he did and then his only requirement is to believe in him. That is contrary to scripture. I don’t use things that I make up. Everything I believe is out of scripture.

As for the other person that brought up me using the term conservative. I mean orderly, respectful, etc. I can tell you this, having a rock band in worship ain’t biblical. I’m not saying someone is going to hell for it though. The reason I prefer no music is because I am praising the lord. It isn’t about me having fun and acting like I’m in a concert. But I digress.

Here, but occasionally There.

Very true. Because many here may not have access to the religious forum categories, I'll post the opening post to a thread I started in that area. Primarily, I provided "my" answers to four questions that I like to ask of believers. I merely ask others to answer the questions to themselves.

"First Questions for Believers (that is the title of the thread in Faith and Fellowship)

Over my numerous years, I've had lots of discussions with people of all kinds of "faiths" and churches. Over that time, I've learned that for any of the Christian belief, there are a few important questions that relate to us and our beliefs.

My first question when visiting with believers is this: Who will judge us all in the end?

In my opinion, the answer has to be God/Jesus, primarily Jesus as He says in the Bible that he will "turn over his church to the Father" after the judgement.

That then prompts the second question, which is: Has He given us anything by which we can determine how he wants us to live and worship?

To me, the answer would be the Bible.

The third question, although not really important except to judge the outcome of our future, is to ask, "Are there examples within the Bible that shows the consequences for our actions?" (In this case, there are examples in both the Old and New Testaments as to punishment for those that defied God's commandments.)

That then brings us to the fourth question, which could be one that really makes us think about our beliefs. That question is: "If we teach and practice anything other that what the Bible speaks of, are we then to be considered "false prophets?"

Any thoughts?"

So Fred..... using technology to access the Bible is bad too using your logic? Could the same be said for the printing press? What verse in the Bible says worship can’t use electric guitars and drums?

Just curious....

Trust me ... You are better off sitting over here with the resident agnostic (who was raised in the Church of Christ). I love it when the "men" talk ...:rolleyes2

im sitting right by ya! Conversation like this is exactly why I have no use for religion. But I do agree about life church. That’s just The equivilant of Walmart for church in my book!
