Bro in law has an electrician friend up in the OKC area. Was doing a job, customer asked if he knew anyone that could use a bit of .45-70 brass and gave him these two boxes. I had mentioned once about reloading so he saved them for me. Approx 300 mixed RP and WW. That oughtta keep me busy for awhile!

That stuff runs more than a $1 a piece for that brass. That is an awesome score

It must be in the air! My cousin just messaged me the same on 300WM and 4570 brass “hey, I was cleaning out an abandoned property and found a few pieces of brass and ammo if you want it”. A few pieces Ended up being about 50x 4570 and 100 300WM. Not nearly as braggable as your score, but was a nice surprise for a Monday! Congrats, that stuff is like hens teeth nowadays!

Turns out mine are trimmed to 1.8”, stretch to 1.9 when resized. I don’t know why they are so short. That’s shorter than even LeverEvolution brass. So I reckon I’ll just load them with TrailBoss or black powder and cast bullets.

Oddly enough, I believe there were a few states that the hunting regs required straight wall cases to have a max length of 1.8 for some weird reason. Idk if that’s the case with these, but a while back I bought a big lot of 4570 gear and when I came across a bunch of shorties, I mentioned it on one of the other forums (I load for the ftx so I use the 2.040 length on cast and ftx) another member mentioned that other states had that weird length. Either way, I wouldn’t hesitate to run em like any other brass, just start low and work up of course. Still a goldmine!
