If someone is interested in starting a knife selling business, retail to the public, perhaps online, what advice and suggestions do you all have as to how the person can start that and what are some good basic company knives and models and types to start selling? There are already so many online and offline stores, so it seems challenging.

There’s a few local makers. You could try hitting them up for some custom knives. That may help bring some attention to the rest of your production inventory. It would set you apart some from everyone else. You might not make much per custom knife but everyone loves looking at the craftsmanship and wishing they had the funds. However it shakes out, good luck.

Might consider adding kitchen knives as well. Some custom chef's knives command premium dollars. Also, might think about adding professional sharpening. Probably a different take on what you're thinking about, but just something to mull over. Good luck.

There are several distributors you can get setup with for selling knives. Some companies require you to use distributors since they won't sell wholesale to you directly. The markup on knives is much greater than firearms so you could stand a chance to make some good money.
