I had one, shot it a few time and then got rid of it. I couldn't afford to shoot it often and couldn't find a real good use for it other than the novelty factor.

I would love to shoot one once, but don't have any desire to own one. If I did own one, it looks to me like a cartridge that screams "reload me".

44 mags always been enough for me, I typically liked shooting 44 specials more than the mags for fun.

If I were to get anything bigger I’d want something like the 454 casull that can shoot the .45 colt. JMO

I love shooting the .44 mag, but never a .500 although I’d like to try it out.
Typically load the .44 mag in Super RedHawk to .44 special velocities for others to shoot. Very mild recoil that even my wife with carpal can handle easily.
Fun to hear the comments “I shot a .44 mag and it didn’t hurt”.
There is a considerable difference in my hunting loads that they wouldn’t like.

Mrs Dumpstick had some friends over several years ago, the girls wanted to shoot some. They had an assortment of handguns; some 380s, some 9mm, etc.

I sent them all down behind the barn, with a Taurus M44 - an 8" ported 44 Mag revolver - and a couple hundred rounds of handloaded 200 gr lead at 850 fps.

The 3 pound, rubber gripped revolver soaked up whatever recoil there was, and the porting took away any muzzle flip.

It was a ball just listening to those girls laughing. "I shot a big 44 Mag, and it wasn't a problem at all!"

I just grinned and kept my mouth shut.

Only shot the full size sw in 500 at h&h 3 times during their dealer days years ago. The recoil wasn’t bad, the concussion indoors was brutal. Smaller ones would suck to shoot. id rather have the 460 and shoot 454 out of it. That is down right fun.

329PD just hurt, not fun at all.

I have a “sling” style holster for mine, and I also have 500 specials for those that would have an issue with the regular magnum ammo.

I also would only load 1 round at a time for those who don’t have much experience with one. I’ve heard horror stories of newbies doubling and taking their heads off.
