I haven’t had anything show up on my camera since I had a nice looking red coated buck on the 20th.
In your case, it could be one of two things. Maybe there haven’t been any deer, but it could also be that someone else wanted a new cell camera. I’m really hoping it’s the former and not the latter.

Little update on my windmill dilemma. One of the guys on my lease and his son are pretty green when it comes to hunting. Their setup is behind the big dirt mounds.
He said, ‘ya know what? I think we’ll hunt it anyway’. Well, they ended up seeing 4 or 5 deer with one being a nice shooter. The boy was using a scoped 30-30 and took a shot. 4 of us started looking for blood but found nothing.
He said the deer put its head down and walked away with its tail swishing. It didn’t bolt out of there.
I’m thinking possible gut shot. It was already misty and slightly sprinkling. Clear gut juice would be impossible to see.
I’m going to go back in a couple hours and poke around though.

If you can’t find it, get on Oklahoma Blood Trackers website and find a tracker in your area. Those guys have found some that were pretty tough.
Trained blood tracking dogs to find and recover wounded game in Oklahoma.

I would tell you to get in touch with Oklahomabassin and Jax, but he was without a ride the last time I talked to him after hitting a cow.

Could be a miss. The kid has a history of missing. I’m going to check the place over pretty well though. Heck, I’d go pick bassin and Jax up if o needed em!

North of the metro about 30 miles
Man, if I didn’t have to have two turkeys fried up by 1 in Shawnee, I would offer Clyde’s nose. He isnt a bonafied tracker yet, but he does alright, and he’s free. I do second calling someone with the OK Blood Trackers association though. There’s some good people in that bunch.

Really really appreciate the offer! My sons buddy had one that lost a lot of blood last Saturday. They looked for hours but the trail cross crossed itself a few times. They never found it. We don’t think it left the property so there may be a chance to recover the rack.
As far as the kid last night, I would just assume that he missed. If it weren’t for how the deer acted, I would chock it up to a miss.
