There’s still a couple of them in Texas that are still open, but they’re not anything like they used to be. I stopped by the one in Weatherford, TX a couple of years ago.

We were going through Weatherford. Seen the Gibson and stopped in.
Was not what I remembered.

Growing up, we had Western Auto, TG&Y, Winn's and Kressge's (K-Mart) within walking distance. Spent much time wandering those aisles.

Many good memories, but like Sears, Montgomery Wards and others; there is a reason they are gone.

I didn't realize they had one in Weatherford. Is it still open? When I go through Weatherford all I'm worried about is getting through their stupid round-about and getting out of town!!!

Come to think of it, there are 2 or so OTASCO's left open and operating in Oklahoma according to a news story a year or so ago. IIRC Duncan/Marlow is one, and another in far North Oklahoma in Beaver.

I need to make a road trip, lol.

I bought one of those 7.62 Russian rifles in the cardboard barrel for $10 -- all their military ammo was cheap too even had lots of tracer ammo
When stores were going out of business and their sales were on I bought CCI primers for $5.00 per 1000 at the Lawton store. (I didn't buy enough!)
